InnKeeper Networking

INSTRUCTIONS

To attach an INNKEEPER terminal to an INNKEEPER Windows server you can set up an INNKEEPER terminal with XP/W2000/NT/W9X.

First confirm that the INNKEEPER server has D and E drives shared through the Windows OS.

Once these drives are shared, you should be able to access them from another Windows PC using Network Neighborhood or My Network Places.

For INNKEEPER it is necessary that you physically map/assign a drive letter for use by the new terminal by highlighting the drive and using TOOLS or Right Click to map drive. Always insert a check mark into the "Reconnect Box" so that this PC always reconnects to these drive letters on each startup.

We highly recommend that you use the same drive letter as used by other terminals for drive path consistency. Move the CD Rom to a higher letter to make room for drive D and E which are typically the drive letters setup for INNKEEPER.

To set up Icons and PIF's for access on the new terminal you need to perform the following:

1. Assign a node number. Create a DOS file on the root of your C drive that contains the node number 01 to 15 as appropriate.
NODE NUMBERS - INNKEEPER uses nodes 01 to 15. Always confirm existing node #'s assigned and then assign a different one for any new terminals.

01 to 09 show up as 1 to 9 10 to 15 show up as A to F

2. Turn on or turn off the mouse for INNKEEPER Create a file on the root of your C drive called MOUSE.YES or MOUSE.NO as appropriate.

3. Know the drive letters assigned for the InnKeeper SERVER drives. Check SAVINN.INI for paths setup.

NOTE:
If CAPA supplied the server, the INNKEEPER system and the Inn-Play folders are normally installed on D and the Replay and Audit folders are installed on E.

If Call Accounting is desired/necessary on this new terminal, you must activate the Call Accounting interface as well. On the SERVER, in the INN folder, verify that you have a CAllS.BAT file. If not, create it using EDIT with the CAMR-E as the required action in this BAT file. Save as a DOS file named CAllS.BAT.

Now you are ready to create the Desktop items.

The INNKEEPER Desktop items can use Innicon.dll for icons. Additionally, this new terminal needs some files copied into the Windows or WinnT folder on the terminal. Look for a SP-DOS folder on the SERVER as well as the InnIcon.dll file. If you cannot locate - contact CAPA or go to our web site for these files.

The main INN #xx (eg: Inn #5) Icon for this terminal requires the following:
X:\INN\INNS01.EXE If Call Accounting is desired/necessary, you must also include the following in the batch line: X:\INN\CAllS.BAT That looks after the terminal setup to run INNKEEPER. Set up for appearance as desired and pull in an INNKEEPER/Capa icon symbol through change icon.

REPLAY items may be important items for an ADMIN PC or operational front desk/reservation terminal.

For Replay 366
use:

X:\INN\REPLAY.EXE Y:\REPL;AY\366 DAY X:\INN-PLAY

FOR REPLAY 31
use:

X:\INN\OLDINN.EXE Y:\REPLAY\31 DAY

FOR VIEW CLERK ID
use:

X:\INN\LOOKCLK.EXE Y:\REPLAY\31 DAY

FOR TRANSACTION REPLAY
use:

X:\INN\GETINN.EXE/T

NOTE: SP-DOS and Logo/LGO items must be in C:\Windows or C:\WinNT for these replay items to work.

Test all items for correct operations.
